Adult Leisure – ‘Kiss Me Like You Miss Her’

Bristol alt-indie four-piece Adult Leisure have released their latest track ‘Kiss Me Like You Miss Her’ on 15th November.

This politically driven track dives deep into the root issues of current austerity measures in Britain, and the impact of the socio-economic climate on society. Taking musical influences from the likes of FOALS, Duran Duran, and The Smiths, the Bristol based four-piece have crafted an innovative sound that effortlessly fuses garage rock with catchy alternative genres of post-punk.

‘Kiss Me Like You Miss Her’ is unapologetically socially stimulated, challenging the government post-2010 in their cuts on public spending on essential services. With sky-rocketing prices to heating up homes in Britain for families in the colder winter months, Adult Leisure protest in their lyrics: “Two blankets in the village / Can’t pay for the privilege”, illustrating the realities for several households in affording to heat up their homes.

Following the release of their previous single ‘Borderline’ on 15th August, the quartet continue to toy with raw emotion and social change, whether it be in relationships or within the political economy.  ‘Kiss Me Like You Miss Her’ is fuelled by electrifying guitars by James Laing and David Woolford, and cracking drums from Nathan Searle. Feelings of frustration and anger are heard through the vocals of Neil Scott, as he provides meaningful yet catchy lyrics in the chorus: “Did ya ponder / Did ya whisper / Kiss me like you miss her”.

Their music would best suit fans of Fontaines D.C., The Police, and SPRINTS. With further new music on the horizon, Adult Leisure have already proven to be an exciting alt-indie band to watch for 2025.

Upcoming live dates include a supporting slot at The Twang’s headline set at Bristol’s O2 Academy on 18thDecember, as well as some 2025 festivals including Icebreaker Festival in Southsea, and the Varanger Festivalen in Norway.
